Car ploughs through crowd of World Cup fans injuring 17

At least 17 people are injured after a car rammed into football fans celebrating a World Cup win.

Crowds had gathered in Cabo San Lucas,Mexico,after Raul Jimenez’s team beat rivals the Czech Republic 3-0,qualifying top of the group and cementing their place in the round of 32.

Hordes of jubilant fans congregated in the resort city at around 9.45pm local time,wearing Mexico’s green football shirt and celebrating in the streets.

As the crowds descended,several cars appeared to be blocked in.

In footage of the incident posted online,fans could be seen surrounding a black car,appearing to press up against its windows and front bonnet.
